While using Microsoft Surface, display goes off little after closing touch keyboard cover, but still usable without entering password for a while. For security reason, it is preferred to lock account right after closing the cover, for such device that you take along with outside the office.
It took little while to figure out where this setting is.
Set sleep for lid close in power management setting.
Setting “require password on wakeup” still enables user to use without password for a while, after the lid close. There’s another place to configure delay before account lock after the lid close.
From settings charm, click “Change PC Settings”.
Under Users, look for “Require a password after the display is off for” and set to “Always require a password”.
There is still few seconds delay, but device will be locked right after closing the cover.
